Cosmic reminders often arrive at the most unexpected times. On Sunday afternoon Brian and I were with our friends David and Leize Perlmutter, speeding through the sea green waters of the Gulf of Mexico on their boat. In order to take in more of the magnificent scenery, Leize decided to put the boat on automatic pilot by setting the GPS. As she turned her back on the steering wheel, she explained to me that a satellite floating somewhere in outer space was now in control of the boat and would guide us effortlessly back to their waterfront home in Naples. Once Leize clearly defined our destination and entered that information into the computer, we were all able to relax and enjoy the ride, confident that we were on the right track.

As I thought about the cosmic implications of this simple act, I began to wonder why it’s so much easier to “trust” an unseen satellite to get us to our destination than it is to trust the infinite intelligence of the Universe to fulfill our dreams. Is it because we have seen GPS work in our car, so we trust it will work in the boat? Is it because satellites are a three dimensional “things” that we can see with our eyes and touch with our hands?

The fact is, the GPS that Leize used to guide our boat back to Naples operates under the same principles as the universal Law of Attraction. This week my friend, Caroline Sutherland, a brilliant medical intuitive, shares her story with us on how she met her soulmate. When she was 40 a famous astrologer told her that her life” would begin at 60.” Not what she wanted to hear but at the age of 60 she found and married her soulmate, Gary. Her inspiring story speaks to the incredible healing power of love, and divine timing. Please enjoy Caroline’s story!

I met my future husband when I was teaching a workshop in Medical Intuition in Seattle. Gary was part of a group that had come to learn about this exciting branch of alternative medicine. I had been single for 18 years and I figured that the universe had given up on me. But in 2003, all of this was about to change.

As I sat down to do his “reading” I had a sense that Gary’s “will to live” was very faint showing the potential for a serious illness. He told me that he was an oncology nurse, surrounded by death and dying on a daily basis.

We said goodbye at the end of the weekend and I never thought I would see him again. However (I heard later) when he first saw me, a little voice inside his head said, “That’s her!”

The universe was obviously orchestrating things on a higher level and about a month later, I met him again at a dinner for a mutual friend.

I couldn’t believe the difference in this man. Gary had lost weight (25 pounds on the Sutherland program) he looked energetic and vital – very attractive. What a difference from the man I had met a month earlier in Seattle.

Exactly a month later, we met again by “accident” at a meditation retreat and we sat next to each other in several meditation cycles. As I tuned in to him I could sense that he was a sweet, dear man who exuded a wonderful calm presence. He was also a spiritual giant – an expert in Tibetan Buddhism.

Every day after the retreat, he called or emailed me and several weeks later he came to visit.

He stepped off the plane and presented me with a gift, a beautiful white porcelain statue of the Buddhist goddess of compassion Quan Yin. Within an hour he proposed to me, we had a long lingering kiss by the kitchen sink and things progressed rapidly from there. We both “knew.”

We share many interests in common and we are on the same spiritual path. We are extremely well suited.

Gary is a very nurturing, thoughtful person and treats me like a queen. Gary is also a wonderful cook – he cleans up the kitchen right away and brings the tea. Plus he puts the toilet seat down!

Marriage has added a new and wonderful dimension to my life. Looking back on my single life, there is really no comparison. This is a love that covers my heart and my soul. Our love continues to grow and blossom. And in observing Gary, he helps me to become a better person.

If you are looking for love, the next step is preparation. The more you love yourself, the more confidence you have in yourself and the more you accept yourself inside and out, the more attractive you become to that significant other. Dear Arielle and Brian,

My name is Maria and I’ve been raising my two daughters on my own, for 15 years, working very hard to provide the best that I could for them. Now that they are now both in college and I am 57 years old, I have decided to think a bit about myself, and who knows maybe find my soulmate.

My dear friend, Kute Blackson, sent out a newsletter the other day that touched me deeply and he has given me permission to share this story with you.

Kute’s teaching is all about expressing your deepest love RIGHT NOW.  Several times each year he takes one client to India for what he calls a Liberation Experience. Once they arrive India, Kute takes away his clients passport and money, leaving them with a backpack and one change of clothes. They then spend the next 14 days with him, 24/7, for a non-stop transformational journey/process designed to strip away all the layers that are in the way of their full self expression. www.kuteblackson.net

On one of these journeys, Kute and his client were sitting at a train station in some remote part of India. It was filled with the handicapped, beggars, and homeless children. In a state of disbelief his client said “Kute, this is so overwhelming to see all this suffering. What can one do to help. I guess when I have billions in resources then I can really help and make a difference”.

“You don’t need to wait. Neither do you need to save the entire world.  All you need to do is to do the little that you can, with what you have”. Kute replied.

Later that day Kute proceeded to take him out to the bridge over looking the train station, where a small group of homeless families lived, sprawled across the pavement. It was a heart shocking sight. He carried a bag filled with large bunches of bananas. As they walked up to the bridge Kute told his client that he was to go up to each man, woman and child on the bridge, and give them 2 bananas each. That he was to do this with as much love and compassion in his heart that he could muster. That each banana was to represent a part of his love.

Within seconds the client was swarmed by a dozen or so children looking at him with a deep hunger of hope in their eyes, asking him for bananas. One by one he gave them all bananas. When they had passed out the last banana, Kute took his client to the opposite side of the road and they sat on the pavement and watched the homeless folk as they ate their bananas.

The sight was truly amazing. The children were jumping for joy. Singing, shouting and dancing, as they ate the bananas. It was as though they had won the lottery! Tears began to stream down the clients face and he began to sob uncontrollably, as he witnessed the profound impact his simple gift had on these people, even if only for a brief moment. The impact of one banana on a child. The impact of one banana to give hope, and bring joy. It may have only been only one banana and yet it was powerful to see how it impacted each of these people. The client sobbed, as he imagined the impact he could have with the resources already in his life to make a difference.

Each of you has the gift of your love to share with the world.  As you go through your personal process of manifesting a soulmate, don’t forget to share your love each day with everyone you come in contact with.  Do as Kute says, LOVE NOW.
